John Hickey was an esteemed member of Long Island City who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 13. Born October 26th 1966 in New York – born to parents affiliated with Local #1 plumbing union–John was known by all as one who would do his work with pride and dedication for nearly 50 years until his sudden and untimely demise left such an empty spot within those that knew and loved him. His sudden exit at age 50 will forever remain with those that loved and knew him best.

Born to Manuela (Gonzaga) Hickey and Cornelius Hickey (deceased), John grew up surrounded by nurturing parents that instilled strong work ethics and family values into him; New York always held special meaning for John; it had deep-seated roots which remained important connections throughout his lifetime.
